Classification at home

When home learning due to Covid-19 partial school closures, the Year 6 pupils (age 10-11) were working on classification. The children were provided with a powerpoint that explained the key features of a classification key. They were then asked to try to make their own classification key, using whatever they had at home.  For example, one child chose to use dinosaur toys, another chose animal pictures to print from the resources provided. A lot of children chose to use sweets e.g. picture 3 shows the unsorted sweets and picture 4 shows them organised into yes/no questions.
