The children in Reception (aged 4-5) were doing a superheroes topic as part of their home learning (due to Covid-19 partial school closures).  They were asked to explore materials for a superhero cape and could choose their own way to record their learning with their parents e.g. photos, videos or audio descriptions.

On the photos, children could be seen trying different materials. On the videos children talked about properties like ‘warm’, ‘waterproof’ and one child said theirs was made of plastic. In this audio (right click to open in new tab), the child named the material they used (bubble wrap) and described its properties (e.g. waterproof).
