The TAPS Focused Assessment approach proposes that pupil recording (e.g. annotating pictures, drawing tables, writing conclusions etc), should be based on the focus for the lesson. The TAPS examples of pupil work often have a skills focus (within a conceptual context), but there also examples where conceptual understanding is more the focus.
